Akinwale Abidakun has built his reputation on three pillars: tackling complex projects, unwavering integrity, and creating value for all stakeholders. His approach has positioned him as a standout figure in Nigeria’s real estate sector, culminating in his recent induction into the Forbes Africa Business Council—a testament to his industry impact.
Known widely as Wale Tomtom, Abidakun has spent over a decade reshaping Nigeria’s property market through Bluemart Realty Group, the company he founded. His specialty lies in identifying undervalued assets and transforming them into profitable ventures. The innovative Joint Venture model he pioneered has become a cornerstone of his business strategy, enabling partnerships that deliver practical solutions aligned with market demands.
Abidakun’s foundation in real estate was built during his tenure as Executive Personal Assistant to business magnate Dr. Wale Babalakin. This role provided invaluable exposure to high-level business operations and sharpened his entrepreneurial instincts. Armed with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Ilorin and a master’s from the University of Leeds, he launched Bluemart Realty Group in 2014 with a focus on distressed property sales—a niche that has since become the company’s signature strength.
Under his leadership, Bluemart Realty has evolved into a comprehensive real estate firm serving individual buyers, corporate clients, and institutional investors. The company’s portfolio spans strategic site development, distressed asset management, and community-focused projects across Nigeria. Notable developments include Royal Havens Court estate in Shimawa, Ogun State, alongside active projects in Akure, Oyo State, Lagos, and Abuja.
“We transform real estate aspirations into reality,” Abidakun explains. “Every project reflects our commitment to quality materials and craftsmanship that creates lasting value.”
His commitment to continuous learning is evident through executive education programs at Lagos Business School and Strathmore Business School in Kenya. Beyond business, Abidakun channels his resources toward youth development through the Southwest Youth Advancement Group in Abuja, mentoring young people across southwestern Nigeria.
A member of Ikoyi Club, his achievements have earned multiple honors, including Eko Outstanding Realtor of the Year 2024, Real Estate CEO of the Year at the SCREAMS All Youths Awards 2024, Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 at the Men of Honour Awards, and a Special Recognition Award from Aso Prestigious Awards in 2025.
Through Bluemart Realty, Abidakun continues demonstrating that strategic vision combined with operational excellence can drive sustainable growth in Nigeria’s evolving real estate market.
