Dapo Abiodun’s Desperate Moves

READ ASAP: BREAKING: Dino wins Kogi PDP governorship primary

Can Governor Dapo Abiodun stop sending emissaries to Sir Kessignton Adebutu? It was funny before, but now looking degrading and insulting to his personality.

Every time he sends someone, they end up coming back to blame Governor Abiodun for his treachery after listening to Baba’s side of the story.

The most recent being a major bank owner which he sent few days ago. When the bank merchant got to Baba and started his appeal, Baba disclosed to him how Governor Abiodun collected N200m from him in March to fund his reelection despite having his son on the ballot.

The old man then asked why he cannot support his own son after going out of his way to fund DA as he had always done even in the past.

The Bank Owner was shocked by this revelation and had to start begging Baba for disturbing his peace. He returned to Nigeria immediately. This is not the first time that Sir Adebutu put his money behind Dapo Abiodun’s political project. In 2019, the Baba paid N100m twice to get Dapo Abiodun elected as Governor. Bu in spite of this good gesture and support, Abiodun did not deem it fit and proper to return the name of Sir Adebutu as a label of honour onto the Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade as it was duly named under the Gbenga Daniel administration. And this, despite the huge financial resources that the Adebutu family had sunk into keeping the Polytechnic afloat and as one of the best in Ogun State. Signatures of Chief Adebutu dotted the entire landscape of the ICT Polytechnic.

Result of the Governorship election in Ogun State is already being challenged at the Tribunal. One would then be wondering what Governor Abiodun is seeing that the rest of us are not seeing. Especially with all these desperate moves to pacify Baba Adebutu or struggle to get the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to interfere on his behalf.

After a botched attempt to use a prominent monarch in Ogun State to get Odole’s buy in to step down the legal challenge, we understand that the Akarigbo of Remoland and the Elepe of Epe, Sagamu will soon be airborne to Paris on the sponsorship of Mr. Dapo Abiodun. Their Mission: to persuade Asiwaju Tinubu to intervene in the legal process on behalf of the Governor.

Political watchers in Ogun State are wondering about the cost of this sponsored pilgrimage of traditional rulers, which some mischievously put at N100 million per head, all because the Governor is desperate to upturn the wishes of the people.

The involvement of the two traditional rulers from Sagamu is something many cannot reconcile. This is because the same Sir Kessington Adebutu practically built the palaces of the Akarigbo and Elepe, at least being the largest donors to the palace projects. They should rather see the contest as something between two of their sons and should not attempt to tieing Ladi Adebutu’s hands down for Dapo Abiodun who for three and half years ignored the traditional rulers, refused to pick their calls until the period of the election.

Governor Abiodun is aware that he has no chance in court and he should face the reality.
