Governor Ganduje Disappointed as Tinubu Offers Kwankwaso Two Ministries
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has voiced his dissatisfaction regarding a recent meeting between former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and President-elect Bola Tinubu. In a leaked audio, verified by insiders as the voices of Ganduje and former ‘placeholder’ vice presidential candidate of the APC, Ibrahim Masari, Ganduje lamented that Tinubu was unfair to him by inviting Kwankwaso to a meeting in Paris.
The meeting between Tinubu and Kwankwaso took place in Paris, France, with the aim of strengthening ties and seeking support from Kwankwaso and other political figures, which were deemed crucial to Tinubu’s aspirations.
Sources familiar with the meeting emphasized the importance of collaboration and urged Kwankwaso to unite his political associates for a common front. It was disclosed that Tinubu presented Kwankwaso with two choices for ministerial positions: the Ministry of Agriculture or the Ministry of Education.

The decision made by Kwankwaso regarding these positions remains unknown, leaving uncertainty about whether he will accept a ministerial role if the partnership is solidified or if he will nominate one of his loyalists for the position.
The meeting was attended by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, and Kwankwaso was accompanied by Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin, a newly elected member from Kano. Sen Oluremi Tinubu was also present.
Discussions during the meeting covered various topics, including their longstanding friendship, national unity, development priorities, National Assembly contests, and Tinubu’s plan for a government of national unity, which has piqued Kwankwaso’s interest.
Furthermore, Tinubu hinted at the possibility of reconciling the strained relationship between Kwankwaso and the outgoing Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, following Ganduje’s succession. Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election, despite Kwankwaso winning Kano State, underscores the strategic importance of maintaining positive relations in the North West region, where Tinubu secured over 30% of his total votes.
Meanwhile, details about the meeting between Kwankwaso and former Emir Sanusi have not been disclosed, but it is believed to be related to recent political developments in Kano. Speculations suggest that Governor-elect Abba Yusuf may revisit the dethronement of Sanusi as Emir of Kano. Kwankwaso played a significant role in Sanusi’s appointment as Emir of Kano, establishing a longstanding relationship between them.
