Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, and two others have been remanded at Agodi Correctional Centre by an Ibadan magistrate court.
The suspects—Silekunola, Islamic High School principal Abdullahi Fasasi, and Agidigbo FM owner Oriyomi Hamzat—face charges over a December 18 stampede that killed 35 children at Islamic High School, Bashorun Ibadan.
They are charged with conspiracy, death acceleration, negligent acts causing harm, and failing to provide adequate security and medical facilities. The case has been adjourned pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The alleged offences violate Section 324 of Oyo State’s Criminal Code. Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi ordered their detention.
