The Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District in the red chamber, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has commiserated with the family of the formal Sagamu Local Government Chairman, Chief (Major) Adekunle Orekoya (Rtd).
Otunba Gbenga Daniel paid a courtesy visit to the family of the deceased, who was also a political leader and a strong pillar of the Gateway Movement in Sagamu Local Government, at his residence on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
Otunba Daniel, in a statement by his media office, commiserated with the government and people of Ogun State, friends, and political associates of the late elder statesman.
The two-time governor of Ogun State, Daniel, described the death of Orekoya as a great loss for Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
He said, “Major Adekunle Orekoha was a great political leader who served the state, his country, and the people with dedication and integrity.
“Major Orekoya continued to contribute to the nation-building, democracy, and socio-economic development of Nigeria even after he left public office in 1996.
Ogun State will sorely miss his wealth of experience,” Daniel said.
Otunba Gbenga prayed to God to grant Major Orekoya’s gentle soul a sweet repose and his loved ones the fortitude to bear his loss.
