We gathered that over 50 undergraduate students have benefited from the bursary scheme being initiated by the lawmaker representing Ijebu-East state constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Owode Waliu Ifedolapo (Ologun-Ebi).
The Coordinator of the programme, Comr. Daniel Joseph hinted that payments started on Friday night and ended on Saturday 8th June, 2024.
According to the Assembly man, “The bursary payment is aimed at meeting some of the exigencies of students in the constituency as well as motivating them to be more serious with their studies.”
While fielding questions from the Association via telephone, the pioneer President of the National Association of Ijebu-East students (NAIES), Comr. Ojikutu Abdulazeez,disclosed that Ijebu East state constituency students are already excited about the bursary payment, noting that it would reduce the financial burden of the students.
“Let me equally use this medium to thank Hon. Owode Waliu Ifedolapo for his love and care for the student community over the years,” he added.

Morayogba Adegboyega odufowoke from Ijebu-Itele ward 7, who is a 400level student of Olabisi Onabanjo University-OOU Ago Iwoye said that the significant initiative, championed by our esteemed Assembly man, is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the educational advancement and welfare of our student community.
Stephen Joy chioma from Ijebu-Ife ward 2, a 300level student of Kwara state University Malete said this timely gesture not only underscores Hon. Waliu owode’s dedication to fostering academic excellence but also his deep-rooted love and support for the future leaders of our great sun shine local government.
Comrade Joseph from owu ward 5, who is a 300level student of Abraham adesanya polytechnic ijebu-Igbo lauded Ologun-Ebi for seeing the need to pay bursary from his pocket.
He however tasked other well-meaning leaders in Ijebu-East LGA to emulate the lawmaker in providing subventions for students. He added.
