Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo Salami is mourning the death of veteran actor Chief Kanran, who passed away on Friday.
He recently revealed that he is still struggling to come to terms with the unexpected loss.
In a heartfelt message shared via his Instagram page, Adebayo disclosed that the death hit him hard because Chief Kanran had just finished working on one of his projects.
According to him, he can only pray for Allah to forgive the late actor’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in the great beyond.
The ‘Jagun Jagun” producer also prayed for strength and comfort for Chief Kanran’s family as they navigate this difficult period.

This loss is particularly overwhelming, as he had just concluded his last acting performance on one of my projects.
May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus, be with his family, and give them the strength to carry through this loss. Rest well, sir,” he wrote.
Chief Kanran started his successful career on stage before moving into television and film, appearing in several Yoruba stage productions and gaining prominence as part of a popular NTA drama series.
He eventually became a household name with his incredible roles in Yoruba movies, including Ewe Orun, Aiye, Efunsetan Aniwura, Agbarin, and Bata Wahala.
He was widely known and respected for portraying authoritative characters, often as a king, chief, or village elder.
As of the time of writing this report, details about the cause of his death remain unclear.
