Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham, has publicly stated he doesn’t wish to mend his relationship with his parents following what he describes as years of family tensions.
The 26-year-old took to Instagram on Monday, sharing his grievances with his 16.2 million followers and claiming his parents attempted to undermine his marriage to actress Nicola Peltz Beckham.
“I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” Brooklyn wrote in the detailed post, rejecting any future reconciliation with his family.
Brooklyn is the son of former England football captain David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, who rose to fame as part of the Spice Girls. He married Nicola in 2022; she is the daughter of billionaire investor Nelson Peltz and former model Claudia Heffner Peltz.
Representatives for David and Victoria Beckham did not respond to requests for comment regarding their son’s public statements.
According to Brooklyn, his parents have worked to damage his relationship with Nicola since before their wedding. He claimed Victoria withdrew from designing Nicola’s wedding dress at the last moment, despite initial excitement about the project, leaving his bride scrambling for an alternative.
Brooklyn further alleged that his mother interrupted his first dance with Nicola at their wedding reception and behaved in a way that made him feel deeply uncomfortable in front of their guests.
He also stated that Nicola was excluded from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration and has been treated disrespectfully by his family overall.
“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first,” Brooklyn wrote, suggesting business interests have taken priority over family relationships.
Brooklyn concluded his message by reflecting that while he experienced significant anxiety growing up, he has now found a sense of peace.
