Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has commended 26,122 Nigerian police officers who have been elevated to higher ranks, calling their advancement a reflection of their professionalism and commitment to serving the nation.
Speaking through a statement released Thursday, the IGP described the promotions as merit-based and emphasized that the officers now carry greater responsibility to demonstrate exemplary leadership, maintain discipline, and deliver quality service to Nigerians.
Egbetokun thanked the Police Service Commission for approving all promotion proposals submitted by the Force leadership. He praised the Commission’s dedication to merit-driven career advancement and proper procedures, noting that the strong working relationship between both institutions is vital for improving officer morale, building professional capacity, and strengthening police operations nationwide.
The police chief reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to ongoing institutional reforms designed to improve efficiency, rebuild public confidence, and enhance partnerships with local and international stakeholders in addressing contemporary security threats.
He assured citizens and the international community that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to professional conduct, upholding the law, and safeguarding lives and property.
