Nigerian business magnate Femi Otedola has commended Aliko Dangote, chairman of Dangote Group, following a visit to the Dangote Refinery on Saturday.
Sharing his impressions on X, Otedola described the facility as “the 8th wonder of the world” and expressed enthusiasm about plans to significantly expand its capacity.
“Today 15 February 2026, I visited the Dangote Refinery, what I call the 8th wonder of the world,” Otedola wrote.
The billionaire philanthropist revealed that the planned expansion would more than double the refinery’s output, boosting capacity from the current 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million barrels per day upon completion.
“After successful completion of this expansion project, capacity will increase to 1.4m barrels per day,” he noted.
The visit comes shortly after the refinery achieved a major milestone by reaching its full nameplate capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, following the restoration and optimization of its Crude Distillation Unit and Motor Spirit production block. Otedola had previously congratulated Dangote on that achievement.
The Dangote Refinery, one of Africa’s largest petroleum refineries, continues to draw attention as a landmark industrial project on the continent.
