The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly traced six high-value real estate properties in Egypt to Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State.
According to sources within the anti-graft agency, the properties were acquired between 2021 and 2023 in upscale New Cairo districts, including Arabella Estate, Banafsek Estate, Oriana Estate, and Cairo Festival City. Villas are valued between 50 million and 200 million Egyptian pounds (about N5.3 billion), while apartments cost around 26 million Egyptian pounds (roughly N700 million).
Investigators have identified specific units, such as House No. 113 in Arabella Estate, House No. 18 in Banafsek Estate, House No. 11 in Oriana II Estate, and several apartments in Cairo Festival City and Oriana Estate.
El-Rufai has not responded to the allegations but maintains his innocence, claiming political persecution. The probe forms part of a broader investigation into alleged financial misconduct during his tenure as Kaduna governor from 2015 to 2023.
