Technology company Meta has introduced a suite of artificial intelligence tools aimed at improving user support and strengthening safety across its platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
Central to the update is the global rollout of the Meta AI support assistant, designed to offer round-the-clock help for common account-related issues such as password recovery, privacy settings, and profile management.
The company explained that the assistant is built to handle user problems from start to finish, delivering solutions rather than basic guidance. It can also assist users in reporting scams, impersonation accounts, and harmful content, while clarifying why posts are removed and guiding users through appeal processes.
Meta noted that the tool responds in under five seconds, significantly cutting down waiting times compared to traditional customer support channels. Early user feedback, according to the company, has been largely positive, with plans already in place to expand the assistant’s capabilities to cover more account issues and languages.
Beyond customer support, Meta is also deploying advanced AI systems to strengthen content moderation. These tools are said to detect and block thousands of scam attempts daily, reduce impersonation of prominent accounts by more than 80 percent, and improve the detection of harmful content such as adult solicitation while lowering error rates. They can also identify fake websites and subtle account breaches, adapting to different languages, cultural contexts, and online trends.
Despite the expanded use of AI, Meta stressed that human oversight remains essential, particularly in complex or high-risk decisions. The company added that the combination of AI efficiency and human expertise is expected to deliver faster support, reduce harmful content, and enhance overall user safety across its platforms.
