The City Boy Movement, Lagos State Chapter, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all Nigerians and Lagosians on the 66th Independence Anniversary, declaring that his administration has made unprecedented progress in infrastructure, job creation, economic diversification and governance since taking office.
In a goodwill message made available to journalists by Hon. Kanbi Owolabi, Assistant Director, Print Media of the movement’s Lagos State Chapter, Director Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe said that while no leader is flawless, the President has proved himself a kind-hearted leader with an exceptional eye for talent, one who puts round pegs in round holes.
“Like no one is perfect, President Tinubu is not perfect,” Ogunlewe said. “Nevertheless, he has remained a kind-hearted leader with an exceptional eye for talents, putting round pegs in round holes. He understands our problems as a nation and has shown the political will to fix them.”
He said that in the fourth year of the administration, Nigerians have seen a clear departure from the past, with leadership, vision and foresight driving the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Ogunlewe, who also serves as Zonal Director, Youth Mobilization, South-West APC Presidential Campaign Council, pointed to the President’s deliberate support for young people through landmark initiatives such as NELFUND, 3MTT, TVET, NiYA, YouthCred, CrediCorp, NYIF, iDICE and SMEDAN.
He also cited the passage of the 2023 Electricity Bill, which decentralised the power sector, and the Nigeria Data Protection Bill 2023. According to him, economic reforms have attracted foreign investment, curbed inflation and boosted job creation, while massive investments have been made in healthcare and education.
On the removal of the fuel subsidy, he described it as a bold step that has blocked corruption and freed resources for development. He added that the administration has strengthened security through enhanced intelligence gathering and inter-agency collaboration, while rolling out social intervention programmes to ease poverty.
Stressing that nation-building is a collective responsibility, Ogunlewe said he had learned a great deal from the President in bringing governance closer to the people of Kosofe Local Government, particularly in transparency, timely service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
He concluded that President Tinubu’s almost four years in office are a testament to resilience, integrity and dedication, and deserve continuity in 2027.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the best for a united Nigeria at this critical point in our 66-year history,” he said. “He deserves our full support for a second term to secure a brighter future and the continuity of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
