Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has appointed legendary singer, 2Face Idibia as Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach.
Making the announcement at the Government House in Makurdi during the singer’s visit, Governor Hyacinth appreciated 2baba for endorsing him for 2027 and hailed him for being a huge supporter of his government since he was elected.
According to him, the accomplished musician has done more than enough to deserve the opportunity to serve the state, hence his decision to hand him a political position that is close to a sector he absolutely dominated for decades.
The Governor revealed that with his experience, humility and influence, he is certain that Innocent Idibia would help impact the lives of his fellow indigenes better, while also doing his very best to always lead by example.
“Let me thank you very firstly for supporting my administration and for proclaiming me for 2027.
I feel it will not be out of place at all, because you are a guru of entertainment. Once you say ‘2face’ people start dancing, even without you singing.
Given your experience and influence, we believe you can help us impact more lives positively.
So we are happy you’re here. On behalf of the state government and our very good people, I want to give you some more responsibility, plus the ones you have been doing, because you have the capacity to do some more and help us chart the way forward to improve other people’s lives and to gain more from your wisdom and advisement as well.
So I’m pleased to announce that we will make you a technical advisor to the governor on entertainment and community outreach,” the Governor said.
This is coming after 2baba formally introduced his fiancée, Hon. Natasha Osawaru, to the Idoma traditional leadership and his native community in Benue State.
The introduction happened during the Idoma Nation Peace and Unity Symposium at the Och’Idoma Palace in Otukpo, and the singer presented his woman to the Och’Idoma V and local dignitaries with a huge smile on his face, while dressed in traditional Idoma attire.
Seeking blessing for his union from his elders, the couple even travelled to 2Face’s ancestral home in Okpokwu to meet with them and other community members, and during the visit, he reiterated his utmost commitment to ensuring Benue State develops well beyond what many expect.
