Popular Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has come out to mourn the sudden death of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota. He recently expressed disbelief over his international teammate’s demise, and fans have been reacting.
Speaking via his social media page, Ronaldo revealed that Jota’s death does not make any sense because they were just celebrating winning the UEFA Nations League trophy weeks ago.
According to him, what makes his demise even more painful is the fact that Jota just got married during the football break, a celebration the deceased raved about until his shocking demise.
“Doesn’t make any sense. Just now we were together in the National Team, just now you were married,” he wrote.
Ronaldo prayed for God to give Diogo’s parents, wife and kids the strength to bear the painful loss.
He concluded by saying that Jota will definitely be missed by everyone who was impacted by his life on and off the pitch.
“To your family, to your wife and children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world.
I know you will always be with them. R.I.P. Diogo and Andre. We will all miss you,” he added.
The Portuguese forward tragically lost his life in a car accident in the early hours of Thursday while travelling alongside his brother, Andre.
