The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has commended the synergy between the executive arm of his government and the state legislature. He recently said that the partnership has helped to aid good governance and enhance qualitative development across the state.
Speaking via his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, while commissioning constituency projects, including a rural electrification project at Obaasa Ajegunle Mile 6, Perimeter Fencing and rehabilitation of blocks of classrooms, amongst others, facilitated by the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Elemide Oludaisi, across Odeda State Constituency, Abiodun revealed that his approval of statewide constituency projects reflects his administration’s collaborative approach.
According to him, his inclusive style of leadership is geared towards bringing governance closer to the people while improving lives at the grassroots.
He stated that the nomination of people-oriented projects by the state lawmakers proves that they are worthy partners in his dedicated plan to deliver effective governance that will benefit Ogun residents.
“With the completion of this electrification project comprising nearly two (2) kilometres of power lines and a 500 KVA transformer, the living conditions of residents and farmers will improve significantly.
Electricity will not only enhance social life here; it will also make the settlement more attractive to farmers, boost agricultural output, and contribute to Ogun State’s drive for food security.
Beyond production, there are immense opportunities along the agricultural value chain, from processing to packaging and storage that can create new revenue streams for our farmers and emerging agripreneurs,” he said.
He further urged residents of the community to take full ownership of the project, stressing that the value being provided represents opportunity, progress, and a better future for the people.
Abiodun concluded by saying that his government is proof of how the legislature can complement the efforts of the executive arm perfectly.
“What we see here today is a good example of how the legislature complements the efforts of the executive arm and our education agencies in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people.
By aligning constituency priorities with state-wide education objectives, our legislators are ensuring that our children learn in safe, conducive, and inspiring environments.
I also want to acknowledge other constituency projects across Odeda Local Government, including boreholes, solar lighting, and the recently commissioned rural electrification project at Oba-Aasha Ajegunle Mile 6, all of which are transforming lives and deepening development in our communities,” he added.
