After his guilty plea, Julianna Negedu urged the court to punish and sentence the offender accordingly.
Reacting, Obayemi’s lawyer, Emmanuel Okenyi, appealed to the court to tamper justice with mercy while sentencing his client.
Emmanuel begged the court to fine his client, instead of jailing him, especially because he pleaded guilty to the charge quickly and did not waste the court’s precious time.
In his judgment, Justice Dipeolu sentenced Obayemi Oyetade to 3 months imprisonment, ordering him to pay the sum of one million naira as a fine option in lieu of the jail term.
