Former U.S. President Joe Biden has said that he is feeling optimistic despite his prostate cancer diagnosis.
He recently delivered his first public interview since his office broke the sad news earlier this month.
Speaking to reporters, Biden said that the prognosis is currently looking good and he feels really fine at the moment.
The politician revealed that he has already decided on a treatment option, and he would be taking several medications to maintain his good health.
According to him, the expectation is that he would beat the deadly disease, especially because it had not penetrated the viral parts of his body before he got diagnosed.
“Well, the prognosis is good. You know, we’re working on everything. It’s moving along. So, I feel good.
The expectation is, we’re going to be able to beat this … it’s not in any organ. My bones are strong. It hasn’t penetrated so I’m feeling good,” he said.
The American leader confirmed that his family is also feeling very optimistic about the diagnosis, stressing that he is working with one of the leading surgeons in the world to find a solution.
Biden further noted that America is currently going through a very difficult moment, and the decision its leaders are taking right now will determine how the next 2 decades will look like.
He concluded by saying that he is proud of all he achieved while he was president, and he still doesn’t regret deciding to run again.
“Why didn’t they run against me then? Because I’d have beaten them.
There’s a lot going on. And I think we’re in a really difficult moment, not only in American history, in world history. I think we’re one of those inflection points in history where the decisions we make in the next little bit are going to determine what things look like for the next 20 years,” he added.
