Hollywood legend Eddie Murphy has said that he is proud of his large family. Recall that the veteran actor and his first wife, Nicole, with whom he shares five adult children, divorced after 13 years in 2006.
He has since welcomed 3 children from other relationships and 2 more with wife Paige Butcher.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Eddie broke down how he ended up with 10 kids, stating that it was not planned at all.
According to him, he decided to have ten children because he can afford to take care of all of them, so he does not regret the decision.
Murphy, however, disclosed that he never adviced father of 12 Nick Cannon to follow in his footsteps.
“It just happened. I never knew I would have 10 kids, but now it’s the best thing ever. If you can afford that many kids, you should have as many kids as you can afford. That is fun.
The moviestar further noted that he is not sure he has ever met Nick Cannon, talk less of offering such parenting advice.
He concluded by saying that their situation is different because he never had that many kids when he was still young.
“I’ve never talked to Nick. Did I ever meet Nick Cannon? I didn’t give him any parenting advice.
People always say, ‘Nick Canon, he got, like, 12 kids,’ I didn’t have that many when I was that young. God bless him,” he added.
