Former Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has said he is alive and healthy. He recently debunked earlier reports announcing that he was dead, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Dismissing the reports, his former Commissioner for Information, Mr C. Don Adinuba, described them as false and mischievous.
Hours after the rumours spread, Willie Obiano released a statement on his Facebook page, insisting that he is in excellent health.
According to him, it is disheartening that some Nigerians still derive joy in spreading false news to bait clicks.
He stated that his loved ones should ignore the falsehood because he is doing very well health-wise.
“My beloved Ndi Anambra, friends, and well-wishers, I woke to hear of a rumour making the rounds about my wellbeing.
Let me assure you personally: I am alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health. By the special grace of God, I am doing very well.
It is unfortunate that some individuals still find joy in spreading falsehood simply for reasons yet to be established. But we will continue to rise above such mischief,” he said.
Obiano further appreciated the people who contacted him as soon as the news broke, expressing gratitude for their genuine concern.
He concluded by saying that the love he receives from those who care about his well-being means more than words can say.
“To everyone who reached out with calls, messages, and prayers, I sincerely appreciate your concern. Your love and goodwill mean more than words can express.
Please disregard the rumour entirely. We remain focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace. Daalu nu, and may God bless you all,” he added.
