Lagos State is set to host Africa’s supply chain development summit.
The summit will unite industry stakeholders across the continent to transform Africa’s procurement sector into a more efficient driver of development.
The summit, themed “Driving Impact through Innovation: The Future of Procurement & Supply in Africa,” will bring together supply chain professionals, industry leaders, and regulators to explore innovations that would enhance procurement practices across the continent.
The President of the African Public Procurement Network, Dr Clever Ruswa, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the 7th Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Summit scheduled to be held on July 3 and 4, 2025, in Lagos.
Ruswa, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, PRAZ, will present effective strategies for boosting procurement governance to aid transparency, sustainability, and competitiveness.
According to him, the summit is a vital platform for uplifting procurement standards, and he intends to use it to shed more light on how innovation can bolster transparency, trigger sustainable growth, and deliver Africa’s economic promise.
APPN represents public procurement bodies from 46 African countries, and the summit organizers believe the network has been driving procurement reforms that align with global standards under Dr Clever Ruswa’s leadership.
The organizers further noted that Clever deserves praise for spearheading regulatory reforms aimed at guaranteeing fairness and strengthening accountability in public procurement processes.
The summit will also feature contributions from industry giants like MTN, Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority, Volta River Authority, and Flour Mills of Nigeria Limited.
The platform, according to the organizers, will serve as a gathering for benchmarking strategies, rubbing minds, and responding to emerging hurdles in procurement and supply chain management.
