Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, on Monday, June 1, visited President Muhammadu Buhari to present his form seeking re-election on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Governor Godwin Obaseki, who is at wat with his predecessor and the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, told the president he has the support of Edo indigenes for his re-election.
All Progressives Congress, APC will hold governoship primary June 22.
Obaseki seeking re-election will be going head-on with his main challenger, Osagie Ize-Iyamu for the APC ticket.
Osazie Ize-Iyamu is believed to have the backing of Mr Oshiomhole, a former Edo governor.
During his visit to President Buhari, Governor Obaseki, told State House reporters it was essential for him to brief the president on his re-election bid.
Obaseki and six other APC governors had earlier visited Party Leader Bola Tinubu to seek his support for Mr Obaseki’s re-election.
