SCRIPTURE TO REMEMBER
“The LORD will display His power over them, causing all false gods to fade away. Then people everywhere, from every distant shore, will worship Him, each in their own place.”
ZEPHANIAH 2:11 (paraphrased)
TODAY’S READING: PSALM 96:8-13
Give to the LORD the glory He deserves; bring an offering and enter His courts. Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth. Declare among the nations: “The LORD reigns!” The world stands firm and cannot be shaken; He judges all people fairly. Let the heavens celebrate and the earth rejoice; let the ocean roar with praise, along with everything in it. Let the fields and their crops burst with joy; let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth with righteousness and truth.
REFLECTION
Many people genuinely desire to worship the one true God, yet they find themselves restricted by various obstacles. Consider the Israelites in Egypt—Pharaoh refused to let them leave to worship God until divine intervention forced his hand. When God finally acted, Pharaoh couldn’t release them fast enough. That very night, he summoned Moses and Aaron, saying, “Get up and leave my people at once, both you and the Israelites! Go and worship the LORD as you have requested” (Exodus 12:29-31). Yet even after granting permission, the Egyptians pursued them, attempting to drag them back into slavery. God put an end to their interference at the Red Sea, and the Israelites were finally free to worship (Exodus 14-15).
Perhaps you want to worship God wholeheartedly, but something stands in your way. You want to praise Him and tell others how great He is, but then you remember that persistent problem in your life—the one that’s been lingering for so long that people around you have started asking, “Where is your God now?” When you think about that obstacle, suddenly praising God becomes a struggle. Today, I declare that Almighty God will step into your situation and remove whatever is preventing you from worshiping Him the way you truly desire, in Jesus’ name.
Many people want to accomplish significant things for God—building places of worship, helping those in need, supporting outreach efforts—but they lack the financial resources to do so. If this describes you, I pray that you will receive the abundance you need to fulfill every purpose God has placed on your heart, in Jesus’ name.
Revelation 4:11 reminds us: “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.” God created everything for His pleasure. He made your hands to clap in worship, your voice to sing His praise, and your body to celebrate Him. Therefore, anyone—whether in government, in your family, or anywhere else—who tries to prevent you from worshiping God and bringing Him joy will face His judgment just as Pharaoh did, unless they turn away from their actions.
PRAYER
Father, please lead me into a fresh season of health, provision, and complete freedom so that I may serve You without any hindrance.
BIBLE READING PLAN
Genesis 32-35
HYMN: IN CHRIST ALONE
Verse 1
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand
Verse 2
In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
Verse 3
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
Verse 4
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
