Kikelomo Atanda-Owo, a prominent media personality, leadership consultant and wife of veteran broadcaster, Reuben Abati, has opened up about her journey of personal transformation and the importance of evolving boundaries.
In a candid social media post shared on Wednesday, Atanda-Owo reflected on valuable lessons learned from challenging experiences in her romantic life, professional partnerships, and personal friendships.
“Over the years, through two failed relationships, business partnerships, and even friendships that drained me, I realised that the issue wasn’t always them. Sometimes, it was me, refusing to acknowledge that my tolerance had expired,” she revealed in her Instagram message.
The media host emphasised that personal growth has fundamentally changed how she approaches relationships and interactions. She explained that behaviors she might have overlooked in the past are no longer acceptable to her present self.
“The woman I was in 2010 could overlook certain behaviours, but the woman I am in 2025? She asks hard questions. She faces you hard on. She doesn’t sweep things under the rug anymore,” Atanda-Owo stated.
She encouraged her followers to embrace their personal evolution, noting that growth naturally shifts one’s boundaries, peace, and sense of identity. “We must learn to tell people, ‘I’m not the same person anymore,'” she wrote.
Atanda-Owo is the host of Real Talk with Kike, a live talk show featuring discussions on politics, social issues, and personal development. She is also the founder of Z-Edge Consulting, a firm specializing in leadership and capacity development.
An alumna of Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Atanda-Owo married veteran journalist and broadcaster Reuben Abati in 2020. Abati, who previously served as a presidential spokesman, is a well-known figure in Nigerian media.
Her message resonated with many followers who appreciated her transparency about personal growth and the courage to establish healthier boundaries in all areas of life.
