National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has declared that President Bola Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election by 4 p.m. if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducts a free, fair, and credible poll.
Baba-Ahmed made the claim while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, where he accused Tinubu of being out of touch with the realities of ordinary Nigerians.
He also faulted the president for publicly defending INEC, arguing that such gestures create the impression that Tinubu is courting the electoral body’s goodwill ahead of the polls.
“No Industry, No Agriculture” – Baba-Ahmed Laments Northern Poverty
Speaking on the state of the nation, Baba-Ahmed lamented the poverty level and the state of the economy, particularly in the Northern part of the country.
“There is no sense in the manner in which people live, the poverty level, the country’s economy. I come from the Northern part of the country and there is no industry, including agriculture,” he said.
He argued that Tinubu is detached from the realities of Nigerians and does not fully grasp the indices, figures, and statistics that could easily be manipulated.
“The best way to verify this is not to look at figures and statistics; we must translate this into where human beings live,” he added.
“Tinubu Will Lose Before 4pm” – PRP Chairman
Baba-Ahmed insisted that a credible, free, and fair election would produce a swift and decisive outcome against the president.
“If it’s a credible, free, and fair election, Tinubu will lose maybe before 4 p.m.,” he said.
Faults Tinubu Over Public Defence Of INEC
The PRP chairman also criticised the president for publicly defending INEC just two weeks ago, insisting Tinubu should have distanced himself from the electoral body rather than endorse it.
“If I were Tinubu, I would be at that event yesterday for so many reasons. Just two weeks ago, Tinubu was defending INEC; the president should not defend INEC in public,” he said.
He maintained that no incumbent contesting an election should be seen praising the umpire overseeing that same election.
“Nobody should praise INEC for conducting an election in which the president is a contestant; it’s wrong, unbecoming, and all it does is that it’s creating this idea that the president is courting the goodwill of INEC, which is wrong,” he stated.
