The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi has assured Nigerians and the global community that the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will perform creditably well in his tenure.

Maigari who premised his assertion on the fact that, Tinubu has unimaginable leadership qualities, added that, all the candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections came prepared for leadership.

Speaking on Saturday in his Sokoto resident, he said: “Our candidate, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu marvelously won the election and we are expecting that because we know the quality of our candidate. We expect him to perform creditably well when he is sworn in as president of Nigeria.

“We know Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not fail Nigerians. He will make good all his promises and deliver. We do hope that Nigerians will continue to support us to deliver”‘. Dingyadi appealed.

While stressing that, developments in the nation’s polity has clearly shown that the APC has proven its worth, Dingyadi noted that, “politics in Nigeria today has shown that APC has come to stay and it is now very clear that APC is the only party that can win elections, but we must continue to support each other despite political party differences””.

The Minister equally lauded the Nigerian security for their professionalism before, during and after the general elections, despite many had forecast doom for the country ahead of the 2023 general elections.

He said: “The security agencies have done very well during the general elections. Most people had expected crisis before, during or even after the election, but as God may have it, all those prophets of doom were disappointed””.

Giving reasons behind the successes of the Nigerian security agencies, the Police Affairs Minister said they have and will continue to organize trainings ad retraining for personnel to facilitate smooth civil/security relationship. .

He also debunked allegations by the Sokoto State Chapter of PDP that he used his position as Minister of Police Affairs and Campaign Director General of the Sokoto APC to the advantage of his party in the general election, adding that such statement must be expected from anybody or party that losses election.

He said: “”I am the same Maigari Dingyadi and Sokoto State Campaign Director General of APC in 2019 when Tambuwal defected to PDP and won reelection as governor. But there was no accusation of foul play.

“”But now that the PDP has lost the 2023 election in Sokoto state, they are saying because Maigari Dingyadi is the Minister of Police Affairs.

People try to point accusing fingers to the lost of their party. I am a card carrying member of my party. And I cannot influence anybody. And their is no way I could have abuse the police to do contrary to their constitutional requirements””.

He further wondered if there is any law that says a Minister should not participate or hold position in his party.
