The United States Government has announced a reward of up to $20 million for anyone who provides credible information about Iran’s nuclear programme, including its facilities, equipment and personnel.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) disclosed the offer on Friday in a post on its official X account, stating that the State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme was seeking intelligence that could help the United States understand Iran’s nuclear activities.
According to the announcement, individuals who provide useful information may also qualify for possible relocation as part of the reward arrangement.
The programme is particularly interested in information about Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, individuals involved in its operations and members of the country’s scientific community.
It is also seeking intelligence on the movement of nuclear-related equipment and personnel, as Washington continues to monitor developments surrounding Tehran’s nuclear activities.
The US State Department explained that concerns about Iran’s compliance with its safeguards obligations to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have affected the agency’s ability to properly monitor the country’s nuclear activities.
These concerns include difficulties in tracking Iran’s production and stockpiles of important nuclear components, particularly centrifuges.
Centrifuges are specialised machines used to enrich uranium, a process that plays a significant role in nuclear energy production and the development of nuclear weapons.
Established in 1984, the Rewards for Justice programme offers financial incentives to individuals who provide information that helps protect American national security interests.
The latest announcement comes amid continued tensions and conflict between the United States and Iran.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly maintained that American military strikes caused significant damage to Iran’s nuclear programme.
However, Washington’s decision to offer a reward of up to $20 million for fresh intelligence suggests that the United States is still seeking detailed information about Iran’s nuclear facilities, equipment, operations and the individuals connected to the programme.
