At least, four hundred Nigerians, including 90 females and 310 males, have been deported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a report from the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

The deportees were received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by officials from the office of the National Security Adviser, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, as well as the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other stakeholders.

The deportation of these Nigerians follows similar incidents in recent times. Earlier, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) had reported the return of 103 Nigerians deported from the Republic of Turkiye. These individuals were also received by NEMA personnel alongside other government officials.

In another related case, 264 Nigerian passengers, who had arrived at the King Abdulaziz International Airport’s Hajj Terminal in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, were informed that their visas had been cancelled. This incident occurred on Monday, November 13, 2023.
