Beloved Nigerian actor Asa Koko has died following a prolonged battle with an undisclosed illness, according to fellow actor Kunle Afod who announced the news on Instagram.
In what would become one of his final recorded appearances, Afod had visited Asa Koko at his residence, documenting their meeting in a poignant video. During this visit, the veteran actor revealed his difficult health journey, sharing that he had spent over two years receiving medical treatment.
The actor, known for having ten wives, spoke of receiving a visit from the state governor during his hospital stay. In the footage, Asa Koko showed Afod his swollen leg while expressing gratitude to God for his survival through the medical ordeal.
Announcing the passing on Instagram, Kunle Afod paid tribute to his senior colleague and offered prayers for the repose of his soul.
