Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria( PENGASSAN) are no longer at loggerheads after a truce brokered by the Federal Government.
The resolution followed collaborative engagements to boost industrial harmony and long-term growth.
A source in the ministry who was close to the situation confirmed that the FG settled the dispute on the 4th of June, 2025.
According to the insider, there have been several rounds of meetings since the beginning of the year under the supervision of government authorities, and it ultimately led to the milestone agreement.
The source mentioned that the agreement was focused on promoting industrial harmony, enhancing national production and improving the general well-being of workers in the oil and gas sector.
The resolution proves Sterling Oil’s unwavering commitment to abiding by regulations, aiding capacity development for Nigerian professionals, and sustaining open dialogue with stakeholders.
In the spirit of mutual respect and long-term partnership, both parties expressed their readiness to comply with the internal resolution of matters and partake in proactive engagement that will tackle future problems.
Sterling Oil commended PENGASSAN leadership, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), and NNPC Limited for their roles in facilitating a fair and futuristic agreement.
