Not less than 2000 persons drawn from within Ojodu community, less privileged, community chiefs, widows have benefitted from the yuletide gift packs consisting bags of rice, cash gifts, and other food items being distributed by Dr Chris Okafor, founder of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, also known as Liberation City.

The charity ball was held Thursday, December 23, at the church premises with residents within the Ojodu community trouping into the church compound in pairs, and clusters, to get their share of the Christmas gift packs.

Speaking exclusively with Seunmanuel Faleye of Apples Bite Magazine, during the charity ball, Dr Chris Okafor said giving is something he is inspired to do all the time.

“I have inspiration to do this all the time, sometimes on a weekly or monthly basis. There is no month through the year that we don’t give to widows. The church can testify to that.

“This period is a time everyone around the world regards as special. Jesus is the reason for the season. Remember the popular scripture, for God so loves the world, that he Gave his begotten son. You cannot love without giving.

“We need to ensure that the less privileged among us have food on their table and something to celebrate the season with.

“We cannot say because God has blessed us, we sit down in the comfort of our home, not minding how others fair during this Christmas season. We are not blessed if people around us do not enjoy blessings through us. We need to share with others.

“We are not only giving to church members and workers, we are also giving to widows, less privileged, from there, we are visiting the different communities, police state, the palace, everywhere we can touch. Our goal is to ensure everyone has something for Christmas,” Dr Chris Okafor remarked.

When asked what it cost to put these gifts together, the revered televangelist conservatively remarked that it cost millions of naira, even though he refrained from putting a figure to it, as he said he does not believe in flaunting money ostensibly.

“At least you know the cost of things in the market, the rice has been re-bagged into over 3000 smaller ones, including garri, and we are also giving out cash gifts to many too. It is a lot putting this together, but we thank God for provision.

Agnes Iheukwmere, a church worker said; “I feel so blessed, I am so happy to receive this gift. This is a prophetic rice, when I eat it, I believe everything will be resolved in my life. I love my man of God so much. He is a man of his word.”

Chioma Emmanuel, another worker said, “I feel excited to get this prophetic rice, that was why I said I must collect it. I believe it has the ability to make anything that is not working in my life to start working. I pray that the oil over my man of God will never run dry.

Some Ojodu Community beneficiaries we met us with had this to say.

Lukman Abiri, “God bless the man of God. He is a good man. I have known him for over 10 years. Everybody loves him around here.”

Ola Segun,” If not for Illumination city, I don’t know what my family will eat for Christman. God bless the man of God.”

Recently, Dr Chris Okafor’s church held 21 days of glory conference, where some of the finest charismatic preachers around ministered including Archbishop Designate Isaac Idahosa, Dr Jamal Harrison Bryant and Bishop George Bloomer from the USA.
