The Grammy-winning artist reached this unprecedented milestone through his combined streams across all credits on the global streaming platform.
Leading his catalog is a collaborative track with Canadian rapper Drake and South African sensation Tyla, which has alone garnered nearly 4 billion streams. Meanwhile, his critically acclaimed third studio album, Made In Lagos Deluxe, stands as his most successful project on the platform with over one billion streams.
The breakout single “Essence,” featuring fellow Nigerian artist Tems, has become Wizkid’s most-streamed song as a lead artist, amassing more than 333 million plays.
Current Spotify data positions Wizkid significantly ahead of his African contemporaries in global streaming numbers. Burna Boy follows with 9.5 billion streams, while Rema holds 5.6 billion, Tems has 4.4 billion, and Tyla records 3.6 billion.
