MultiChoice Nigeria, a Canal+ company, has appointed Kemi Omotosho as its new Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of John Ugbe, who stepped down after nearly fifteen years leading the organization.
Omotosho, who brings over 20 years of leadership experience across media, telecommunications, and digital businesses in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, will assume the CEO role effective January 2026. Her appointment marks a significant leadership transition for one of the country’s leading entertainment platforms.
Ugbe’s departure concludes a distinguished tenure during which he navigated the business through major industry and market changes while strengthening its operational foundations and long-term resilience.
The incoming CEO has held multiple senior positions within the MultiChoice Group, including Executive Head of Customer Value Management in Nigeria and Group Executive Head of Customer Value Management for Rest of Africa, where she provided functional leadership across more than 50 markets. Most recently, she served as Regional Director for Southern Africa, managing a seven-country portfolio with full profit and loss responsibility.

With her proven track record of leading complex organizations, driving disciplined growth, and building high-performing teams, she will oversee the company’s strategy, operations, and stakeholder engagement.
