Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that his wife, Chioma Adeleke, now manages his finances because he considers himself a reckless spender.
The award-winning singer made the revelation in a video that has gone viral on social media. He was speaking with his official streamer, Davreltv, when the conversation turned to who oversees his finances.
During the interaction, Davido attempted to transfer money to his longtime personal assistant, Lati, but encountered difficulties accessing his bank account. Unable to complete the transaction, he called Chioma and asked her to send the money on his behalf.
In the phone conversation, Davido affectionately greeted his wife before requesting that she transfer $4,000 to Lati.
“Hello, hello baby, good morning my wife, my love. Help me send Lati $4,000. I can’t login, I don’t know why, it’s the service here. Alright. We’re taking off now to Naija, I love you,” he said.
Following the call, the streamer asked if Chioma had taken over the responsibility of managing his money.
Responding with a smile, Davido confirmed that she now oversees his finances, explaining that the arrangement helps him control his spending habits.
According to the singer, Chioma keeps his finances organized because he admits he spends money carelessly.
“Of course. You know I’m a reckless spender. Na she dey arrange everything. Na my life coordinator be that,” Davido said.
The revelation quickly sparked reactions across social media, with many fans applauding the couple’s relationship and praising Chioma for helping the singer maintain financial discipline.
Davido and Chioma, who celebrated their lavish traditional wedding in 2024, have remained one of Nigeria’s most admired celebrity couples. Their frequent public displays of love and support continue to attract admiration from fans, with many describing their relationship as a model of partnership and trust.
