When respected leaders like Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello (FMB) step forward to interrogate institutional anomalies and question political narratives, they do so from a place of pedigree, public service, and genuine stakeholder concern.
To attempt to muzzle or discredit a distinguished diplomat and stateswoman of her caliber is a futile enterprise. FMB has consistently maintained a legacy defined by intellectual rigor, dignity, and an unwavering commitment to accountability. Her voice cannot be easily dismissed by political jobbers whose primary qualification is the transient backing of deep pockets.
The Curious Flip-Flop of Segun Sowunmi
Even more laughable—and frankly tragic—is the sudden, unprincipled posturing of characters like Segun Sowunmi. It is public knowledge how standard political integrity operates: you either stand firmly by your stated convictions or you become a cautionary tale of political commercialization.
For a man who has often packaged himself as a progressive alternative, watching Sowunmi execute a rapid, gravity-defying somersault into a sudden, money-induced alignment with Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) is the height of hypocrisy. Only yesterday, this same vocal critic was warning anyone who cared to listen about the dangers of state capture and political imposition.
Today, intoxicated by the intoxicating scent of sudden financial inducement, the rhetoric has conveniently softened into praise-singing.

Defending the Sacred Mandate of Truth
Ogun State politics has always been defined by independent thought, robust debate, and a fierce resistance to political hucksterism. Leaders like Folake Marcus-Bello represent the enduring conscience of that tradition—refusing to sell out for a mess of pottage.
Those who mortgage their voices for sudden financial warmth may temporarily command the headlines, but the discerning public sees right through the theatrical display. True political capital is built on consistency, character, and respect for the people, qualities that no amount of sudden campaign cash can ever buy.
