The Ogun State Police Command has summoned social critic and activist Adetoun Onajobi, popularly known as Just Adetoun, to answer questions regarding allegations that she defamed Governor Dapo Abiodun’s character.
State Police Public Relations Officer Boluwatife Babaseyi confirmed the development on Wednesday, noting that the activist’s legal representative has already established contact with authorities.
“An invitation has been extended to her, and we anticipate her cooperation. Her legal counsel has been in touch with us. Any new developments will be communicated,” Babaseyi stated.
The invitation stems from a series of videos posted by Just Adetoun, an Ogun State native, on her social media channels criticizing the governor’s administration.
Her commentary was triggered by a December 2025 traffic collision on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway that claimed the lives of two associates of Nigerian-British boxer Anthony Joshua. The victims, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, died when their vehicle struck a stationary truck.
In her online statements, Just Adetoun accused the Ogun State government of neglecting Joshua and his companions during the emergency, asserting that Lagos State authorities provided the assistance instead.
The activist further claimed that Ogun State lacks operational ambulances, stating she has managed approximately 700 cases in the state without access to emergency medical vehicles.
Additional allegations in her videos touched on the governor’s private behavior and included accusations of public fund mismanagement and unlawful property seizures.
Police officials have declined to provide additional specifics about the allegations, saying only that the case remains under examination.
