The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced its intention to organize an international festival in Miami, Florida, in partnership with the African Travel Film Festival. The festival aims to create a robust network for Nollywood actors, facilitating interactions with their global counterparts and fostering cross-cultural collaborations in filmmaking.
AGN’s National President, Emeka Rollas, disclosed the plans during a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday. He highlighted the festival’s primary objective of providing Nollywood actors with a platform to connect with casting directors and producers worldwide, further enhancing cross-cultural exchanges in the world of filmmaking.

The festival, scheduled to take place from November 9 to 11 in Miami, Florida, will offer a diverse array of activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the Telemundo studio and explore the scenic beaches of Miami through a boat cruise. Masterclasses on filmmaking will also be conducted, enriching the knowledge and skills of participating actors.
Dr. Alex Okoroji, Chairman of the Organising Committee for the festival, expressed excitement about hosting the event in Miami. The city’s vibrant cultural scene, coupled with its significant Nigerian and African immigrant population, makes it an ideal location for promoting Nollywood’s talent on a global scale.
The festival’s theme, “The Future of Nollywood Actors in the Global Economy,” reflects its commitment to celebrating Nigerian film and television actors. A range of engaging events, including a red carpet gala, film screenings, panel discussions, city tours, workshops, and seminars, will be featured throughout the festival.
Renowned actors Nancy Isime and Joseph Benjamin are set to be the official hosts for the event. Over 70 Nollywood stars have already confirmed their attendance, and the festival remains open to interested actors seeking to participate.
