The much-anticipated biopic Adedibu, Alagbara Ibadan, chronicling the life and political influence of the late Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu, is set to premiere exclusively on Libra TV this Sunday, October 4, 2026.
The film tells the story of a prominent figure in Ibadan politics, exploring Adedibu’s life, his rise in politics, his relationships and influence within the political space, as well as the legacy he left behind in Oyo State and Nigeria.
Produced by Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards, and directed by Abiodun Jimoh. Adedibu, Alagbara Ibadan features veteran actor Lere Paimo in the lead role as Lamidi Adedibu. He is joined by an ensemble cast including Dele Odule, Afeez ‘Saka’ Oyetoro, Segun Arinze, Kayode Olaiya, Adekola Tijani and Taiwo Ibikunle and many more.
Speaking about the film, Oloketuyi said the project was inspired by the need to preserve important aspects of Nigeria’s political history and make them accessible to a wider audience. “Adedibu, Alagbara Ibadan is an answer to the need to keep Nigeria’s political history alive,” he said.
The biopic offers audiences an opportunity to revisit the life and times of Adedibu and explore the political journey of a man whose name remains closely associated with the history of Ibadan and Oyo State.
Adedibu, Alagbara Ibadan will premiere on Libra TV’s YouTube channel on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
