The Ogun State Government plans to construct a 900-seat digital learning complex powered by artificial intelligence at Remo Secondary School in Sagamu, as part of efforts to expand technology-driven education.
Governor Dapo Abiodun announced the project during the school’s 80th anniversary celebrations, describing it as a strategic investment in infrastructure that will equip students for a technology-centered global economy.
The proposed facility will add to existing digital initiatives at the school, which include a resource center and robotics laboratory aimed at developing innovation and problem-solving capabilities among students.
Abiodun pledged ₦100m toward the school’s development, with ₦50m to be disbursed immediately. He committed to completing at least one major project before his tenure ends.
The governor also outlined recent upgrades, including renovated science laboratories with modern equipment for safer practical sessions, and improved male and female hostels to enhance security and living conditions for boarding students.
He described Remo Secondary School as an institution with deep historical significance, acknowledging its role in producing leaders and professionals over decades. Abiodun commended the alumni association for sustained support that has helped maintain the school’s standards.
The school has been designated one of Ogun State’s model institutions. The governor urged students to maintain academic focus and moral integrity while upholding the school’s reputation for excellence.
