The Chief Executive, AGCOMS International Trading Limited, Chijioke Okoli, had said that Nigeria’s exposure to advanced mechanisation technology is key to taking its agricultural landscape to the next level.
He recently shared that the adoption of global practices can help to transform Nigeria’s agriculture sector.
Speaking at the yearly NAMPO Harvest Day in South Africa, the largest agricultural trade show on the continent, Chijioke revealed that despite the country’s historic current low mechanisation level, President Tinubu’s focus on boosting tractor usage is paving the way for a bright agricultural future.
He stated that despite the ongoing challenges in the sector, the prospect of the country remains bright because it has a president who cares about agriculture.
According to him, the South Africa trip was a great opportunity to learn from futuristic developments, and as a result, AGCOMS International Trading Limited will stay committed to building the most knowledgeable and forward-thinking team on the continent.
“It’s vital for the world to know that, despite Nigeria’s historic current low mechanisation level, the prospects of the country are bright because of the strong focus of the Tinubu administration on increasing tractor usage in the country. So we have every reason to be optimistic.
The trip was also an opportunity for us to see and learn from cutting-edge developments. This trip represents more than just attendance—it is a bold statement of our vision.
We are committed to building the most knowledgeable and forward-thinking team in Africa. Exposure to advanced mechanisation technology and global best practices is key to transforming our agricultural landscape,” he said.
The Harvest Day witnessed more than 87,000 visitors over the space of 4 days, and AGCOMS, the authorised dealer of the iconic John Deere brand of agricultural equipment, was ably represented by a team of 10 key staff led by Chijioke.
One of the memorable highlights of the event was the unveiling of the John Deere 9RX 830 hp Tractor – the most powerful tractor ever introduced in the whole of Africa.
