The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2026 delivered a spectacular celebration of African cinema and entertainment, as actors, filmmakers, producers, and digital creators gathered in Lagos for one of the continent’s biggest entertainment events.

Held at Eko Hotel and Suites, the glamorous ceremony featured emotional acceptance speeches, stunning fashion statements, surprise victories, and memorable moments that quickly dominated conversations across social media platforms.

This year’s edition highlighted the growing influence of African storytelling, with indigenous films and culturally inspired productions receiving major recognition across several award categories.

Among the biggest highlights of the night was actress Linda Ejiofor, who emerged as one of the stars of the ceremony after securing a historic double victory.

Glamour And Fashion Take Centre Stage

The AMVCA red carpet once again became one of the evening’s biggest attractions, as celebrities showcased elaborate outfits inspired by both African heritage and international fashion trends.

Linda Ejiofor impressed guests in an elegant emerald green gown decorated with crystal details and a dramatic flowing train.

Funke Akindele also attracted attention in a sophisticated black couture dress embellished with silver stones, while Bisola Aiyeola appeared in a futuristic metallic silver outfit that became one of the night’s most talked-about looks.

Actor Uzor Arukwe turned heads in a black velvet tuxedo with gold embroidery, while celebrity couple Lateef Adedimeji and Adebimpe Oyebade dazzled guests with coordinated royal Yoruba attire.

Nancy Isime also earned praise for her sculpted gold dress with flowing cape details, which quickly trended online.

New Hosting Style Introduced

For the first time since 2013, longtime host IK Osakioduwa was replaced by comedian Bovi Ugboma and South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha, who co-hosted the event.

The hosting duo brought humour, energy, and fresh excitement to the ceremony.
