The immediate past National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has said that he is determined to be the next Osun State Governor.
He recently revealed that he is serious about winning the election, not just participating.
Speaking via a press statement issued by his media office and signed by Jamiu Olawumi, Omisore shared that he has commenced grassroots consultation across Osun after his decision to join the race for the party’s governorship ticket.
According to him, he intends to follow due process throughout the journey to Osun state’s number one seat, hence the decision to consult party faithfuls and carry them along.
He stated that his final decision would be shaped by grassroots engagement and stakeholder alignment.
“This is not about ambition alone; it is about collective reasoning and strategy. Osun needs common sense now more than ever.
We cannot afford to field a candidate who merely participates—we must present a candidate who can win,” he said.
Also speaking during the consultation, former Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin Bamisayemi, noted that Senator Omisore played a key role as APC National Secretary, stressing that he did well to avert an internal crisis while ensuring the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s 2023 presidential candidate.
He concluded by lauding Senator Iyiola Omisore for sustaining financial and strategic support for the APC over the years.
“Senator Omisore base in Ife is one of the four largest voting blocs in Osun. His sustained financial and strategic support for the APC, including backing of reinstated local government officials across Osun,” he added.
