His Excellency, The Senator, Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, the esteemed Asiwaju of Remo Christians and chief promoter of the prestigious annual choir festival, has announced the third installment of the Asiwaju of Remo Christians Choir Festival 3.0. This annual celebration of choral excellence is set to take place on Sunday, June 16, at the International Ecumenical Worship Centre, “ABRAHAM TABERNACLE,” located on Oba Erinwole Road, G.R.A, Sagamu. This year’s theme, “Messiah My Father,” promises a spiritually uplifting experience.
The Remo Christians Choir Festival originated 16 years ago as part of the annual family thanksgiving program of Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel. It has since evolved into a prominent national event. Otunba Daniel established the Abraham Tabernacle to honor God and immortalize his late father, His Grace, Most Revd. Abraham Adebola Daniel, JP (1916 – 2011). The festival’s mission to preach the gospel through music and enhance the quality of church singing is encapsulated in its motto: “Improving the art of singing in our churches.”
The Choir Festival was rebranded and launched as a distinct event in 2022, with the first edition marking a new era for this inspirational gathering. Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the Asiwaju of Remo Christians, continues to spearhead this initiative, reflecting his dedication to nurturing spiritual and moral values through choral music.
This year’s festival will feature an array of esteemed guests, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Olorogun Sunny Kuku, Senator Seriake Dickson, Senator Udo Udoma, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Aare Emmanuel King, Chief Kessington Adebutu, Aare Kola Oyefeso, Otunba Deji Osibogun, Otunba Alex Onabanjo, Otunba Opeyemi Agbaje, and HRH Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin.
The Asiwaju of Remo Christians Choir Festival 3.0 invites everyone to join for an afternoon of soul-stirring performances by church choirs and choral groups from across the nation. This event celebrates the legacy of choral music and its profound impact on worship and community. It promises to be a memorable occasion filled with harmonious melodies and divine inspiration.
