Ayo Da-Silva is a Lagos Island-born healthcare professional and technocrat-turned-politician who defected to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party earlier in 2026, after more than two decades in the PDP. He holds a background in industrial chemistry and healthcare administration, and previously worked as a Regional Director for a Health Maintenance Organisation in Detroit, Michigan, before returning to Nigerian politics. His political career stretches back to his student union days, and he has previously contested for the Lagos West Senatorial seat. His defection, formalised at an event in the Amuwo/Festac axis and received on behalf of the state APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, was described by party leaders as a boost to the APC’s grassroots strength in that corridor.
