Legal practitioner Braide Boma Lilian has called for reconciliation between the Rivers State political heavyweights Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Capital Territory Minister Chief Nyesom Wike, following recent Supreme Court deliberations, in an impassioned letter sighted by Apples Bite Magazine.
The letter emphasizes the need for unity and collaboration between Governor Fubara and his predecessor Wike, warning that external forces could exploit their differences to the detriment of the state’s development.
“Governor Fubara, your decisions going forward will be crucial in shaping the future of our state,” writes Braide, while reminding the current governor to acknowledge those who supported his rise to power.
Addressing Wike, the author appeals to his role as an elder statesman to “act as a father figure and embrace peace,” recalling his initial confidence in Fubara’s leadership abilities when selecting him as a successor.
The letter extends beyond the two principals, calling on all Rivers State elders, leaders, and citizens to prioritize peace and uninterrupted development in what Braide describes as a “critical period” for the state.
“Let’s build a Rivers State where everyone can live in Peace, Harmony, and Prosperity. Show the world that Rivers State, the ‘Treasure Base of the Nation,’ is a beacon of hope,” concludes the appeal, emphasizing that collective unity is essential for the state’s progress.
