Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom, will be featured on CNN’s African Voices Changemakers programme in recognition of her work in education, women’s empowerment, healthcare and community development.
A statement announcing the feature said the programme, airing from July 11 to 19, will spotlight initiatives she has driven through the Royal Iwere Foundation (RIF).
The foundation’s work spans teacher training, science and innovation programmes, skills acquisition, healthcare support, and projects designed to widen educational and economic opportunities for women, children and underserved communities across the Warri Kingdom.
The statement noted that the foundation has awarded scholarships to students, with some initiatives specifically targeted at improving girls’ access to education. It also pointed to the Royal Iwere Foundation Skills Institute, set up to equip women and young people with vocational skills while supporting entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
Outside her community projects, Olori Atuwatse III sits on Nigeria’s High-Level Advisory Committee on Women’s Economic Empowerment and Gender, where she helps shape policy discussions on expanding opportunities for women. She has also taken part in several local and international engagements centred on education, leadership and women’s development.
African Voices Changemakers is a CNN programme profiling individuals whose work is driving social and economic development across Africa.
