A Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, has granted bail to social media personality Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, in her ongoing alleged ₦69.15 million property fraud case.
Justice Rahman Oshodi approved her bail in the sum of ₦20 million with two sureties in the same amount.
Blessing CEO is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegations of stealing and obtaining money by false pretences.
While delivering the ruling, Justice Oshodi stated that although the prosecution did not oppose the bail application, the court was duty-bound to consider the gravity of the charges and the punishment attached to the alleged offences before granting bail.
The judge also took into account the explanation presented by the defence regarding the defendant’s international passport.
As part of the bail conditions, each surety must provide a three-year bank statement or proof of fixed deposits valued at no less than ₦20 million. The defendant and both sureties are also required to undergo verification through the Lagos State Judiciary’s Bail Information Management System.
In addition, the court ordered that the Nigerian Immigration Service be officially informed of the bail conditions to prevent Blessing CEO from travelling outside Nigeria until the case is concluded.
The matter was adjourned until October 12, 2026, for the continuation of trial.
The EFCC had arraigned Blessing CEO on June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge bordering on alleged stealing and obtaining money by false pretences. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the anti-graft agency, the defendant allegedly obtained ₦69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited in March 2025 after claiming the funds would be used to secure the lease of a property in Lekki, Lagos.
The EFCC maintains that the alleged offences violate Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State and Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006.
With her not-guilty plea already entered, the trial is expected to continue when the case resumes on October 12, 2026.
