Popular Gospel singer, Kenny Saint Brown has spoken up about the reason behind Da Grin’s early death.
She recently revealed that the rapper’s asked God for fame and success with his lyrics on one of her songs, but he never asked Him for long life.
Speaking during the latest episode of the Hoha podcast, KSB said that after featuring the deceased on a prayer-themed track, the rapper jumped on the song with only lyrics about how he wants the good things of life.
According to her, Dagrin left out important prayer requests like long life, peace, grace, etc., and decided to rap about needing more fame and wanting to drive a Bentley.
KSB stated that when she asked God about the reason for Dagrin’s early demise, He simply told her to listen closely to all he asked Him for on their joint record, “Turn Me Around.”
“When Dagrin passed, I was heartbroken because God had answered the prayers from that song. I asked God why, and He told me to listen closely to Dagrin’s verse. There was no prayer for long life — only for fame, ‘Mo fe ma gun Bentley,’ and worldwide recognition. God granted all that,” she said.
Dagrin died in a car accident on the 22nd of April 2010 after colliding with a stationary truck in the early hours of the morning. The lyricist was found unconscious after the tragic incident, but despite efforts to save his life at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, he passed away eventually.
