Popular singer Ruger has revealed that he became toxic when he was just six years old.
He recently revealed that his first heartbreak experience birthed his toxicity when he was still a child.
Speaking during an interview on the Bro Bants podcast, Michael Adebayo Olayinka said that he was actually in love with an older woman who playfully called him her boyfriend, leading him to conclude that they were an item.
However, his tender heart got broken when he saw the same woman sleeping with another man through her window.
According to Ruger, the experience was torturous and traumatising for him at the time that it made him connect to Styl-Plus’ “Imagine That” almost immediately, since the lyrics of the song started speaking to him directly.
Ruger disclosed that his toxicity began from that point because what he saw with his eyes really broke his heart in ways he never saw coming.
“The last time that I experienced heartbreak, I was very, very young. There was this aunty that I liked, she used to call me ‘my boyfriend.’ So, I assumed that she was my woman. I was just 6 years old.
I got heartbroken because one day, I saw some guy smashing her through her window. The guy was tearing her up. I cried. I was traumatised. I started singing ‘Imagine That’ by Styl-Plus. That was what started my toxicity. That experience broke my heart,” he said.
Recall that months back, Ruger announced that he plans to get married before the end of 2025.
The “Asiwaju” crooner took to his social media page to share how the surge in weddings across Nigeria is making him rethink his playboy lifestyle.
“Everybody is just getting married. Got me questioning myself— how long will I continue this playboy shiii? I am settling down this year, period. I’ll soon be 30, tf,” Ruger wrote.
