Popular Afrobeats superstar, Davido has released his much-anticipated 5th album, “5ive.” Released today, April 18, 2025, the album features 17 songs and several guest appearances from musicians all over the world.
With collaborations with fellow Afrobeats stars like Omah Lay and Victony, Nigerians can expect to be served the kind of sound they have always appreciated OBO for, especially after the success of “Funds,” a soothing Nigerian tune featuring OdumoduBlvck and Chike that constantly gets you to the dance floor whenever it comes on.
The project also features international acts like Jamaica’s YG Marley, who did his thing on “Awuke,” the very first single of the album that several fans cannot get enough of. Other Caribbean singers on the album are the super-talented Shensea and 450.
You already know that when it involves Davido, Chris Brown never fails to show love and support. The American R&B legend and long-term collaborator also delivered his amazing vocals on “5ive,” as did 3 time Grammy winner, Victoria Monet and stunning Latin pop star, Becky G.
For his fans from other African nations, Musa Keys and Davido reunited for another collaboration after the applaudable success of Davido‘s Grammy-nominated single, “Unavailable” off his record-breaking fourth album, “Timeless.”
If you are a Davido addict from France or you just generally love music recorded in their unique language, you can expect fire verses and superb melodies from respected French superstars, Dadju & Tay C.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the album, Davido said the title of the project is more than just a number, and should instead be seen as a statement that shows how much he has grown as a musician. “This 5ive album? Man, it means everything to me. It’s more than just a number — it’s a statement of where I stand, five albums in. Getting to work with artists that I love and respect from all over the world on this project was a blessing. Different sounds, different cultures, but one vibe! This one right here shows my growth, my journey and where I am now in my life and my artistry.” he said.
